Yew Tree Road

Yew Tree Road is a refurbished Victorian building that opened in January 2009.  It is a large detached house with modern interior with 8 bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor and has a large garden with lawn that is accessible for those with limited mobility.  The house is located in Slough town centre with easy access to local amenities, education centres, colleges and leisure facilities which provide most educational and leisure activities required. Slough can be accessed from surrounding areas via all public transport including trains and buses.

Day activities are offered as part of the care and rehabilitation based on person centred planning.  Service users are encouraged to fulfil their personal potential at their own pace, they are encouraged to participate in their daily independent living skills and leisure and educational activities. There are also opportunities for service users who have a keen horticulture interest as they can utilise the large garden.

We found people living at the service appeared to be happy, settled and well supported.  Staff demonstrated caring practices and treated people with compassion and kindness.  We regularly saw staff and people laughing and joking throughout our inspection (Reach Inspection Report 27/10/2015)

The service had a relaxed and open atmosphere.  People were able to freely move around the house as they wished and had constant access to the garden.  We saw people were involved in the running of the service including undertaking practical tasks and in the form of regular meetings and reviews.  People were safe living at Reach.  This was because they were supported by staff who knew their needs….  (Reach Inspection Report 27/10/2015)
